What happens at a meeting?
Do I have to be a member to attend a meeting?
No, you are welcome to attend a meeting as a guest of the club.
We look forward to seeing you.
We ask that you join the Fort Myers Aquarium Society if you wish to attend another one.
We invite you to join FMAS at the meeting.
Individual memberships are only $15.
Family memberships are $20.
How does the meeting proceed?
Business Meeting - 15 minutes
The FMAS President opens the meeting and covers some general business of the club.Speaker - 45 minutes to 1 hour
An expert speaker - in person or via Zoom - presents an informative program for 35-45 minutes.Meeting Auction - 30 minutes or until all items are sold
Our auctioneer opens the auction. FMAS members and guests may bid on lots of fish, plants or equipment.
Do I have to be a member to buy or sell fish in the meeting auction?
Guests may sell fish at our meetings, but the split for selling is 50/50.
Club members receive a more advantageous 70/30 split and keep 70% of the proceeds.

When are meetings?
Where are they held?
FMAS meets on the first Saturday of the month at 6PM at the IMAG History and Science Center located at 2000 Cranford Ave, Fort Myers, FL 33916.

How does the meeting auction work?
Each paid member receives a buyer/seller number.
Members and guests may bid on any of the lots.
If you win the item, a runner will bring you the item. Pay for items as you go in cash.
